Applications in Congether are the topmost hierarchical entity to be able to use. For each of your software-projects, you have to create a new application (sometimes abbreviated as ‘App’).
If you’re new to Congether, you’ll see following screen after your login.
To create a new Application, click on “Create new App”.
Create a new application
If you want to create a new App, click on “Create a new App”. A dialog will appear, where you can set the required informations for this new application.
The field “Name” is used to display the description or name of the Application.
The field “Identifier” is required as a unique identification for your app. In most common cases, you can use here for example the package-, project- or domain-name.
To create the new Application click on “Finish”.
List available applications
On the Page “Apps”, you’ll see all existing applications you created in Congether.
Click on a tile, which shows the common informations about your app, to go to the detail-page of your application.
The detail-page of your application starts at the overview. On the dashboard, all available subpages and modules will be presented.
You can either navigate through the upper menu-bar or the overview-tiles.
To configure the behavior of your application, click on the upper menu-bar on “Preferences”. This will navigate you to the global settings-page for your application.
The preference-page is divided in several segments and will give you different possibilities, to configure your application.
In the “App Details”-segment, you’re able to set the description of your app. The identifier is fixed and cannot be changed.
The “Preferences”-segment gives you following provisioning-automatisms, which you can enable.
If this option is active, Congether will automatically create a new version in your application, if an Endpoint with an unknown Version requests the provisioning.
Device-Level (Congether IoT required)
If this option is active, Congether will create devices, if a new device requests the provisioning.
If this option is active, Congether works down to installation-level configurations. It will also create a new installation in the system, when a new Endpoint requests a provisioning.
In this section, you can manage the Versions of your App. Either they’re automatically created, or you can create and edit versions by yourself.
To connect your applications through the Endpoint-API or the SDKs, you’ll need an “Endpoint-Token” and a “Secret”. This two informations will be used for the authentication against the Congether Endpoint-API.
To get these two informations, click on “Connect” in the upper main-menu.
To get more informations, on how to connect your applications with the several available interfaces, you can visit the Congether SDK and API Docs.
